As England enters a second Coronavirus lockdown, restaurants, non-essential services and leisure facilities are closed for 4 weeks to help stop the spread of the virus. Non-essential travel and gatherings of more than 2 households outdoors are currently banned, but A Better Start Southend is still here to support families throughout the lockdown.

Since March, we have been continuing to work alongside our fantastic Partners and Parent Champions to deliver our services via digital methods and face to face where appropriate. Two of our services – Perinatal Mental Health and Bump to Breast Breastfeeding Group – have widened their offer of support further than the 6 wards we operate in, to encompass the whole of Southend-on-Sea, allowing even more families to benefit.

If you or a family you know could benefit from accessing our services throughout the pandemic and beyond, visit www.abetterstartsouthend.co.uk/about/projects

We all have our part to play in stopping the spread of Coronavirus, and if you are unable to stay at home, remember to wash your hands, cover your face and make space when you go outside.
