Over the past three weeks, while the majority of the UK has been staying at home to help save lives and prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), A Better Start Southend has been active across Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to provide daily tips, activities and play time inspiration for families with children under 4.

With schools closed nationally, and people being urged to stay home, this has prompted families to spend time together reading, playing and being creative. Sometimes though, inspiration may run out, and it can be tough to keep children engaged, especially in these unprecedented times where access to the outside world is more limited. But, A Better Start Southend is here to inspire digitally, with daily activities across our social media channels!

From making Junk People out of old recycling bits and bobs, to creating a big family art piece and planting seeds, families across the borough have benefitted from the wide range of fun, playtime activities which benefit the child’s Communication and Language, Diet and Nutrition and Social and Emotional development.
