Bump to Breast support group in Southend

Breastfeeding can be a challenging time for families, which is why A Better Start Southend is dedicated to delivering breastfeeding support that starts from early in pregnancy to the first months of a baby’s life. If you’re looking for some extra support, why not pop along to Bump to Breast’s support group?

Bump to Breast is a friendly breastfeeding support group that meet throughout the week in many different settings across Southend. Bump to Breast have created a relaxing atmosphere where you can join them for an informal cuppa and chat, and you can ask any breastfeeding related questions whether you are antenatal or postnatal.

Accessing our breastfeeding support has led to positive change in Southend!

  • The percentage of those starting breastfeeding rose from 58% to 74% between March 2018 and August 2021.
  • The percentage of those breastfeeding at 10 days rose from 47.5% to 66.1%.
  • Breastfeeding rates at 6-8 weeks rose from 39.1% to 56.1%, which is a higher increase than the percent across England

We understand the importance of a strong support bubble, so we would love to see you at any of Bump to Breast’s weekly sessions. No booking is required, and older siblings are welcome too. Bump to Breast often have other events such as café meet-ups, so check the social media pages for up-to-date information. You can also find informative videos and tips on our social media.

Mondays 10am-12pm at the YMCA Eco Hub 2a St John’s Road in Westcliff

Tuesdays 10am-12pm Mini Milks at the ABSS Community Hub

Wednesdays 10am-12pm at St Mark’s Church on the corner of Hamlet Court Road and Princes Street

Wednesdays 10am-12pm at Shoebury Trust Links on Elm Road

Thursdays 10am-12pm at the Plaza Centre on Southchurch Road (round the side in ‘The Living Room’)
