Our A Better Start Southend Work Skills team have some great events lined up this month for parents/carers with children under 4. If you are expecting a baby and are thinking ahead to how your working life may need to adapt, or you want to get a taster for something you’ve always wanted to try, our Work Skills sessions are for you.

A Careers in the NHS session took place this week, where parents learned about the various pathways into their ideal job in the NHS. The session also covered interview support, to help provide parents with skills and knowledge in moving through the application process with the NHS. Another of these sessions will be taking place on June 22nd, this time with more focus on midwifery and nursing routes into the NHS.

Want to gain a qualification in First Aid? Come along to regular sessions, taking place on June 9th and July’s will be on the 12th, at the Park Inn; learn more about the simple skills needed in a first aid emergency.

If you want to get into something new, or change your career, our Work Skills team are hosting Food Safety courses (27th, 28th June and 4th, 5th July) at Southend Adult Community College where you’ll gain an understanding of tips for food safety while learning new skills. And a Photography career session (21st June) at the Park Inn where you’ll learn how to take amazing photos with a professional photographer.
