A Better Start Southend is a partnership of organisations who care about Southend’s children.
A Better Start Southend is part of a ten-year test and learn programme set up by The National Lottery Community Fund to transform ways of thinking about services for very young children. Southend is one of five sites (the others are Blackpool, Bradford, Nottingham and Lambeth) that share funding, expertise and practical experiences as their programmes develop.
Southend’s programme is supported by a grant of over £36m from The National Lottery Community Fund. The programme is led by the Early Years Alliance, working with a number of strategic partners who share decision-making for the programme. We are also supported by a number of delivery partners.
