Southend Early Autism Support (SEAS)

Southend Early Autism Support (SEAS) is a seven week programme for parents of pre-school children who have, or are likely to get a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The course covers: ‘What is ASD?’, sleep, feeding, toileting, communication, play, behaviour and sensory difficulties.

The course is presented by professionals from health and education including a Speech and Language Therapist, Senior Educational Psychologist, Specialist Health Visitor, Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist and Early Years SEN Advisor. It also gives parents the opportunity to meet others who have the same worries or concerns and it is a safe place to share.

Access to the course is through a referral from a health or education professionals (e.g. Health Visitor, Early Years SEN Advisor, Paediatrician, Speech and Language Therapist, etc).

A crèche is available and parents are encouraged to bring a partner, family member or friend for support.
