Southend Storysacks

Project update (January 2025)

With effect from 1st January 2025, the Southend Storysacks service will transfer to Southend Libraries.
Families can continue to enjoy the offer, supporting early communication and language development.

Southend Storysacks

Southend Storysacks provides free storytelling and activity packs for all families living in Southend. The Storysacks can be borrowed for 3 weeks at a time and are suitable for babies and children from 6 months to 4 years of age. Each Storysack has a theme like Walking Through the Jungle and Food, Food, Fabulous Food.

Language sacks are also available in ten different languages.

The Storysacks will be available to borrow from libraries, making them more accessible to families throughout Southend. Parents/carers can reserve sacks from the library catalogue which will then be sent to the relevant branch library for collection. Check the Southend Libraries website and social media for updates on borrowing the Storysacks, coming soon.

A library card will be required, library membership is free.
