Legacy Resource Packs

As part of the Legacy from ABSS, local partner organisations and parents have been working closely with ABSS to assemble a range of resource packs for families and for local practitioners working with families.

 

There is a range of resources to choose from, which we’ll be adding to this webpage soon.

SEND information and tip sheets for parents

The tip sheets include questions parents often ask, tips for local parents on practical approaches and links to videos, websites, jargon busters and sources of local support.

 

Topics include:

 

• Preparing for an appointment
• Applying for Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
• Finding a nursery
• Sensory play
• Concerns about your child’s development
• Toileting
• Bedtime routines and sleep

Let’s Get Ready for School! Bags

Starting school is an exciting time but some young children may feel nervous.
The bags contain a range of activities, games and fun ideas that parents can
enjoy with their little ones.

 

Each bag contains 3 story books:

 

• Pip and Me Go to School – a book created by ABSS Parent Champions
• 2 picture books about what school might be like and the various feelings and emotions little ones might experience when starting school

 

The bags are free to borrow and will be available soon from all Southend
libraries. Find your local library here.

• Booklets on breastfeeding, diet and nutrition and support for perinatal mental health and information on successful co-production initiatives
• Toolkits and training resources for local practitioners
• Tip sheets for parents
