The Early Years Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (EYIDVA) project provides individual support and/or advocacy for parents of children aged under four years old who have been exposed to domestic abuse living in Southend. The Early Years IDVA can complete a comprehensive risk assessment and individual safety plan, tailormade to each client to help identify and mitigate risk factors.
Domestic abuse is a complex crime that has a devastating impact on individuals and children/young people. The Early Years IDVA will work with parents and their children who have been exposed to domestic abuse, to provide person led support and advocacy to assist with housing needs, legal assistance, benefits, mental health, substance misuse and emotional wellbeing.
