Join us for a FREE morning of storytelling, simple costume-making and face painting at Shoebury Youth Centre. There’s no need to register in advance, just drop-in and we’ll encourage imaginations to get creative ahead of World Book Day this year!

9.30am – midday, with storytelling sessions at 10am and 11am

Shoebury Youth Centre, Delaware Road, Shoeburyness, Southend, SS3 9NS
FREE! No need to book, just turn up
This event is for expectant families and/or families or carers of children aged 0-3 years.
Older siblings welcome.
Important notice to parents/carers:
Children must not be left unsupervised at any time and must be accompanied by their parent/carer.
You and your little one can enjoy a variety of activities:
1. Create your own World Book Day costume!
A range of ideas and materials will be available depending on your ability or desire to be creative!
2. Face-painting!
Your little one will be able to choose from some fun designs!
3. Storytelling with the award-winning Talking Transitions team!
City Family’s Talking Transitions team will be on site to share some special stories for you and your little ones to enjoy. Storytelling times will be at 10am or 11am.

Have you heard of Southend Storysacks? They provide a variety of themed activity and storytelling packs in a variety of languages for families to enjoy together. You’ll be able to learn more about them at the event.
